Inbound Specialist – EM South
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
- Responsible and accountable for all management of inbound logistics to the point where shipments are fully received in the system.
- This includes overseeing inbound planning, customs clearances, and Inbound DC operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify shipping instructions to ensure that all cargo is delivered as per instructions.
- Manage local sourcing inland transportation.
- Work with 3PL providers to ensure that cargo is received OTIF.
- Ensure that all cargo is custom cleared before arrival at the destination – paperwork, working with broker, standards, invoicing.
- Freight billing approval related to all inbound.
- Daily updates of the Inbound tracker – sharing ETAs to relevant stakeholders regularly or when required.
- Prepare weekly inbound reports.
- Provide E2E COS ACT (Monthly Reporting).
- Prepare E2E COS Rolling Forecasts – quarterly budgeting inputs.
- Manage exceptional costs.
- TLT analysis and adjustments.
- ASN check – IBD maintenance (creating of manual IBD’s and ensuring that IBD’s are pulling through in WMS).
- Ensure that all claims related to carriers, forwarders are logged regularly.
- Assist with data needed for the yearly Global custom report.
- Daily GR completion checks.
- Ensure that all deliveries are GRV’d and put away within the agreed SLA.
- Respond to team queries and solve problems that affect function performance and escalate issues when support is needed.
- Monitor and update others on KPI performance; take operational actions to influence cost/productivity metrics.
- Collaborate across functions to deliver effective end-to-end inbound operation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience managing import shipments.
- Previous customs experience – particularly on inbound operations.
- Computer literacy competence (SAP, MS Office) with operational financial skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and administration skills.
- Must be goal-oriented, analytical, and pro-active.
- Ability to manage day-to-day operational issues and resolve operational problems independently.
- Sound leadership/management skills and a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to develop an open, sincere, and trusting relationship with all stakeholders.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
- Preferably Degree or Diploma level qualification in Supply Chain Management/Business Management.
- 3-5 years of overall work experience in Supply Chain/Logistics or Customer Service.
- Competent user in Microsoft Office applications.
