Must be first and foremost a responsible individual with great attention to safety precautions.
- Maintain logs and record labour, materials, and equipment used, relevant to job card feedback.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Direct and train other workers and apprentices.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations.
- Perform routine maintenance on plant equipment.
- Wire machines and electrical panels according to electrical wiring standards.
- Install, maintain, and repair any electrical system.
- Ensure that electrical systems are safe and running efficiently.
- Troubleshoot to find the root cause of issues and think of a logical solution.
- Follow lawful instructions by Foreman/Manager/Employer.
- Work shifts and be available for standby at times.
- Effectively interface and support the production departments.
- Ensure maximum contribution towards achievement of the business.
- Practice safety and good housekeeping.
- Implement modifications only as instructed.
- Work on other electrical projects as required.
- Ensure that risk assessments have been completed before commencing any task.
- Work overtime, do standby, and be available for call-outs should the need arise.
- Report any unlawful activities.
- Follow any other lawful and reasonable instructions as teamwork should prevail at all times.
