Product Specialist with Catalogue Development
Will be accountable for analysing and implementing a best practice platform for one of the Key product lines.
Duties & Responsibilities
Analyse existing Ignite solution and platform
- Engage with stakeholders to understand pressure points and concerns
- Consider end user customers’ requirements for:
- Ease of use
- Mobile and online solution
- Speed of search functionality
- Communication
- Pricing and value for money
Investigate best practice alternatives to redesign the product's platform
- Conduct an analysis of local and international alternatives to the product's platform
- Investigate competitor platforms and technologies
- Investigate customer behaviour patterns to create a solution that addresses customer requirements effectively
Develop a project plan with deliverables to redesign the product's platform
- Allocate milestones for delivery of redesigned platform
- Apply learnings as defined in Investigation phase to source coding to address gaps
- Phase project plan in accordance with:
- Analyse
- Design
- Develop
- Test
- Deploy
- Create and test prototypes
- Define MVP – Minimum Value Products for delivery into market
- Ensure UAT conducted
- Ensure solution is tested by GI customers and users
- Address any system issues
Oversee Product Data Management Software
- Develop and implement SOP for Product Data Management Software
- Update the product's online catalogue and manage the permissions of roles within the PS team
- Installation of licenses and managing companies and users with their permissions on the online platform in the PDM passport
- Ensure accuracy of the existing vehicle-related data in PDM i.e., make, model, type, vehicle attributes, product linkages, other data sources
- Monthly updates of new vehicles in cooperation with the product
- Sourcing of vehicle pictures, standardizing of pictures and maintenance of them in PDM
- Upkeep of car park registration figures
- Administration of the product's monthly data charge, vetting and submission of invoices for approval (car park and VIN)
- Coordination of car park data updates within the Product Management team
- Upkeep of master data lookup lists in PDM (i.e., suppliers, competitors, product classes, brands etc.)
- Master User for the product's catalogue
- 1st line support to internal users
- Internal training and coordination between teams (i.e., Sales, IT and PM teams)
- Reporting on customer usage and clicks on catalogue
- Coordinator between sales, marketing and product management in terms of promotions and other communication
- Administration of user registrations and CRM
- Assist Product Specialists with car linkages, product attributes and article pictures
Manage BGA
- Request for new price file from BGA Sales Support
- Pursue new Lines from BGA via Customer visits and market-related homework
- In line with Sales Team, make customers aware of new BGA products
- Drive increase in units and revenue
- Important to keep pushing the selling point that BGA carries a 3 year warranty, OE Conti Belts in the packaging, rebranded to BGA for export duties. OEM, best quality in the SA market
- Request BGA Stock on Hand Report from Planning team
Desired Experience & Qualification
Experience project manager with 10 years plus experience in development of back end platforms and Product catalogues.
