Job Overview
The primary focus of the role will be to handle procurement of mining goods. The position will require liaison with clients, contractors, EPCM partners, and logistics for all procurement needs. Quality control of each order through to payment of the supplier and delivery to the warehouse. Provide support and technical input to overall procurement functions covering all sourcing and expediting processes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluation of supplier proposals on both a commercial and technical level.
- Ensure placement of all purchase orders as requested by the client.
- Ensure accuracy of all purchase order details in line with the client PO and supplier quote.
- Ensure timely execution of purchase orders and alert logistics and expediting of orders placed.
- Ensure all purchase order requirements are completed to finalize delivery of goods in line with lead time quoted.
- Accurate record keeping and reporting of all purchase order details and queries.
- Ensure supplier meets all milestones set.
- Ensure suppliers are paid timely to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Issuing of PO collection instructions as required to move goods as needed.
- Responsibility and accountability for the development and maintenance of accurate information systems for effective management (SAP).
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Formal industry-related qualification.
- Good understanding of both commercials.
- Minimum of 5 years operations experience within a supply chain environment.
- Minimum of 3 years work experience on a mining site.
- Experience in a technical capacity within mining project execution is advantageous.
