Your responsibilities
You will develop a deep understanding of Uniper’s business, its value drivers, and the business environment
You will learn from and collaborate with experts from many different fields, contribute your ideas and work on your own projects with various stakeholders
You will start in the Quantitative Methods function within the Risk department and rotate flexibly upon your individual career development path
In Quantitative Methods, you will help to develop state-of-the-art valuation, risk management and optimization models, and implement them as software solutions into our systems infrastructure and processes
You will assist in ensuring the effective use of these models and analytics within the organization to enable commercial functions to manage financial risks (market, credit, liquidity, weather), to contribute to the origination of new business and to support and enhance risk management
Understand front-to-end business processes, and work effectively and collaboratively across the organization to deliver solutions
Your profile
Successfully completed studies with a focus on mathematics, physics, or a related field
Ideally first practical experience gained through internships and/or working student activities
Curiosity and openness to working in an international environment
Intercultural experience is crucial, experience abroad a plus
Sense of responsibility, proactivity and advanced interpersonal communication skills as well as a drive for continuous improvement with a hands-on mentality
Familiarity with common numerical methods, probability theory, and ideally also stochastic calculus
First experience in implementing numerical calculations of stochastic or other complex mathematical models in a modern programming language
Fluency in both written and spoken English is required, German language skills are a plus

During your 18- or 24-month traineeship at Uniper, you will get to know various divisions and gain valuable experience for your future. In addition to some predefined stations, you can flexibly combine other departments that you would like to pass through and work in an international environment with team members from over 80 countries. In coordination with your team and the requirements of your tasks, you can choose how, when and where you want to work.
Based in Germany, the program gives you a deep insight into our day-to-day business and helps you to explore your personal strengths. You will also have the opportunity to bring in and enhance your interpersonal and teamwork skills. Individual mentoring and a buddy from day one will ensure you have the best possible foundation for the next step in your career at Uniper. We are fortunate that, on average, more than 95 % of all trainees remain with our team after their program and take on an appropriate follow-up position.
