Stellenbosch University Faculty of Law Law Clinic Attorney (Job Level 8) (Stellenbosch Campus) Ref. RG04/303/1124 The Law Clinic at Stellenbosch University (SU) operates as a fully-fledged attorneys office, delivering free legal services to the indigent, whilst at the same time training final year law students and candidate legal practitioners in the practical application of the law. The Clinic also produces research outputs and engages in impact litigation. Duties: The Stellenbosch University Law Clinic seeks to appoint an admitted attorney. The incumbentwill be required to perform the work typically performed by a law clinician, which includes: Providing legal services, including consulting, researching, drafting and litigating. Supervising and mentoring candidate legal practitioners and students. Providing legal education and training to candidate legal practitioners, students and to members of the community, including the poor and marginalised. Managing relationships with Clinic stakeholders. Conducting administration relating to all of the above activities. Requirements: Admitted attorney. At least three years experience in family law, including experience in childrens rights matters. A valid drivers licence. Computer literate. The ability to work under pressure and independently. Must be diligent and hardworking. Must be proactive and innovative. Sound interpersonal relations. Competent written and verbal communicator. The ability to function effectively in a multicultural environment.
