Manage Managers
Job Purpose
To manage the deliverables and development of software and/or maintenance; taking end-to-end enterprise ownership to address client requirements in line with Nedbank Business and Information Technology strategy.
Job Responsibilities
- Adopt and execute according to the Nedbank nWoW Delivery Approach.
- Manage and deliver all innovation and business as usual initiatives/work requests for the entrusted delivery team.
- The deliverables must be delivered within the agreed scope, budget and timelines.
- Plan, direct and co-ordinate all delivery team activities in terms of strategic projects, small medium enhancements, and business as usual.
- Conform to the necessary PM disciplines and programme/project governance, considering GIA expectations in terms of scope, change, financial, risk and issue management.
- Monitor and report on delivery progress within Scrum Master Stand-up and other required project/operation meetings and SAFe ceremonies.
- Preparing necessary reports and dashboards required.
- Run delivery team agile ceremonies such as Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Backlog Refinement/Grooming, Iteration Retrospect and Team Reviews/Demos.
- Ensure the team works on the right tasks at the right time, working closely with the team Technical Product Owner (TPO) and other Teams (for incoming delivery requests) to translate epics, stories, and other items on the sprint list into actionable tasks for the delivery team.
- Ensure that all JIRA epics, stories, and other issue types are linked to ensure correct targeted recovery flow from a financial perspective.
- In conjunction with the team TPO, monitor the delivery team time capture and month end Tempo time approvals.
- Manage delivery team recovery targets for both innovation and business as usual.
- Work with the team TPO and prepare all necessities for quarterly PI Planning.
- Play an active role in providing mentorship and coaching on agile best practices to the delivery team members.
- Ensure self and team improve on productivity and efficiency month on month.
- Optimise the effectiveness of resources through modelling capacity requirements across full portfolio and by understanding and communicating impact of capacity requirements.
- Ensure effective optimisation of systems, processes, and technology by doing root cause analysis and taking corrective action.
- Manage support and maintenance, application health and stability.
- Ensure optimal team delivery by considering and making amendments to processes, structures, operating models, and business plans.
- Deliver a world class service through others by ensuring a client centric culture through required interventions. Identify areas of resource inefficiencies and promote optimisation through promoting multi-skilling and addressing capacity gaps by reviewing and improving work processes.
- Maintain effective and productive relationships with vendors, manage vendor contracting, invoicing and payment processes for assets and teams under your management.
- Mitigate Project risks and issues by identifying possible risks, classifying them, planning mitigation, and raising it at the appropriate forums until resolution or acceptance.
- Ensure work delivery by effective planning of a programme of projects and related activities.
Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
Preferred Qualification
- Degree: BSc. Computer Science, BComm. IS or Equivalent BTech or Technical Diploma
Minimum Experience Level
- 7 to 12 years’ experience in an IT environment (across IT disciplines)
- Experience in SAFe Agile, Technical Governance, Product Management, Project Management, PI Planning, Release and Change Management, SDLC, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project
Technical/ Professional Knowledge
Technical understanding of core application development tools:
- zOS
- Cloud Technologies (AWS and/or Azure, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
- Database Management systems such as PostgreSQL, MS SQL, DB2
- .Net and / or Java EE
