Security Risk Practitioner Job Summary: Implement and manage anti-poaching strategies to protect the reserve's wildlife, guests, and staff. Coordinate with APNR and other authorities to ensure effective security measures.
- Implement and manage anti-poaching strategies to protect the reserve's wildlife, guests, and staff.
- Coordinate with the Anti-Poaching Network of the Region (APNR) and other relevant authorities to ensure effective security measures.
- Provide emergency wilderness first aid as needed to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with security regulations and standards (PSIRA Registered) to maintain the reserve's reputation.
- Demonstrate proficiency in firearm handling and possess firearm competency certification to handle security tasks effectively.
- Conduct fire prevention and firefighting activities to prevent and respond to potential threats.
- Perform general maintenance tasks as required to maintain the reserve's facilities and equipment.
- Maintain and repair security electric fences to prevent unauthorized access.
- Utilize drones for surveillance and monitoring purposes to enhance security and conservation efforts.
Requirements:
- Proven experience and training in anti-poaching operations to effectively manage security risks.
- Familiarity with the Anti-Poaching Network of the Region (APNR) to coordinate with relevant authorities.
- Certification in emergency wilderness first aid to provide critical care in emergency situations.
- Formal Security / Anti-Poaching / COIN ops training to possess the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Competency in firearm handling and possession of firearm competency certification to handle security tasks effectively.
- Tracking qualification (Man tracking preferable) to track and monitor wildlife effectively.
- Dog Handling skills to utilize canines in security and conservation efforts.
- Valid Driver's Licence (preferably with PDP) to operate vehicles and equipment safely.
- Experience in fire prevention and firefighting to prevent and respond to potential threats.
- Proficiency in general maintenance tasks to maintain the reserve's facilities and equipment.
- Ability to maintain and repair security electric fences to prevent unauthorized access.
- Experience in the use of drones for surveillance and monitoring to enhance security and conservation efforts.
- Background in environmental studies or strong experience in reserve management (security) to understand the reserve's operations and conservation goals.
