SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Product Development. Details designs from first principles as well as improvements on existing product ranges.
Qualifications and Key Skills Required:
- B Eng. / BSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of design experience
- Ability to plan and execute project plans
- Ability to guide and mentor other engineers
- Innovative and self-driven
- Hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Readily able to adjust to changing priorities
- Objective-oriented, setting goals and meeting deadlines
Responsibilities:
- 3D CAD model designs and presentations to clients.
- Preparation of manufacturing and supplier part drawings.
- Conduct concept and design reviews.
- Manage and support the day-to-day design activities.
- Provide creative and technically feasible solutions for cost savings, service issues, and product improvements.
- Interface with materials and purchasing on new part design and sourcing.
- Interface with Analysis, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to determine the most effective and economical use of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Interface with the Product Regulation and Compliance staff to design products that meet government regulations, restrictions, and codes.
