A highly successful main contractor working across Greater London and the South East is now seeking an experienced Design manager to join the team. Based in the SE London area They work across Multiple sectors including education, healthcare, office, heritage & residential, carrying out a mix of new build and refurbishment schemes of upto £15 Mill. Following an extremely successful period and several new contract awards, this is a newly created role to support the additional workload. With several high profile schemes as well as numerous framework awards and repeat clients, this is a rare opportunity to join an extremely stable business in a successful team.
Your new role
As design manager you will work closely with the estimating, delivery, surveying and site teams to manage the ongoing design process across a number of schemes. You will be comfortable co-ordinating and collaborating with architects, engineers and other external stakeholders to ensure designs meet client requirements, regulations and budget, providing support and guidance to the various teams in regard to construction techniques, suitable and alternative materials and latest specs/regulations. You will be working within a team of 4 you will work across both residential and commercial schemes.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Design manager with a construction or Architectural background. You will have worked for a main contractor previously and be comfortable managing projects through the design process from pre-construction through to handover. A related Degree is desirable but not essential.
