Requirements

- Tertiary qualification in

- Transport Management
- Or equivalent
- 5-8 Years Experience
- 3 Years Experience in unionized Environment
- Experience in Passenger Transport Industry (especially bus and coach Sector)
- Good Track record in General Management
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Word
- Key financial management principles and procedures
- Knowledge of Human resources practices
- Knowledge of competitive marketing principles
- Knowledge of technical and engineering practices
- Knowledge of the bus operations processes and systems
- Diagnostics Ability
- Good Reporting Skills
- Sharp business acumen
Responsibilities
Perform General Management and control functions of the activities of the Business Unit including but not limited to:
- Develop, propose and advise on the company’s adoption of BU strategies and policies that are consistent with internal and external needs.
- Ensure profitability of the BU’s through sound financial management principles and practices.
- Overseeing and optimizing resources in the planning and scheduling of bus operations to ensure the smooth running of services provided to the community
- Oversee and ensure efficient utilization of resources in the scheduling and execution of overall maintenance plan for the buses in the BU
- Oversee effective utilization of stagging in the BU
- Development and ensure implementation of a marketing strategy to grow existing services and to attract new business.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation applicable to the industry such as but not limited to, the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
