We are seeking to employ a GPP Manager to work within the Store Operations division within Clicks. This role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Woodstock, Cape Town and report to the Head of Store & Pharmacy Operations (SA).
Job Purpose
To plan and manage the implementation of the operations healthcare strategy that delivers pharmacy profitability, services and ensures compliance with legal, ethical and professional standards in order to achieve business objectives and strategy.
Job Objectives
- To drive ethical and legal compliance with Good Pharmacy Practice as well as all other regulatory and legal requirements.
- To manage the acquisitions, licensing applications and recording for new pharmacies with relevant regulatory bodies and health departments.
- To identify and manage risks in pharmacy operations in order to maintain patient safety and maintain regulatory compliance.
- To lead the implementation of pharmacy objectives through the delivery of customer service and patient care excellence in order to enhance brand affiliation.
- To manage delivery of pharmacy projects and best practice in order to embed excellence in pharmaceutical care.
- To deliver financial objectives in line with budgets in order to contribute to financial outcomes.
- To review financial plans and synchronise financial targets in line with the merchandise calendar, draw key insights and provide recommendations in order to improve business performance.
- To identify business opportunities to gain market differentiation that results in sales and profit growth through continuous competitor analysis.
- To develop and manage a high performing team through effective people management and ensure professional development and registration of all registered pharmacy personnel in order to build capacity to meet current and future business needs.
- To provide timely and accurate information in order to facilitate informed decision making, mitigate risks, and maintain effective control over pharmacy operations, ensuring optimal outcomes in patient care and regulatory compliance.
- To manage financial, human, and other resources in order to deliver the operating plan and achieve business objectives.

Experience
- 8 years experience in the retail pharmacy sector in a management role
- 5 years pharmacy management
- 3–5 years working in a pharmacy environment, preferably with experience in compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory roles
- Experience having worked with different trade unions or in a unionised environment (Desirable)
- Leading negotiations in a bargaining council or a labour union (Desirable)
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent
- A registered pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) and maintain active registration through continuous professional development (CPD)
- Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) certification from SAPC (Desirable)
- Quality Management Systems (QMS) certifications
