Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum N4 and trade tested (N5 preferred) - Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics’ Trade Test
- 3+ Years manufacturing production experience (Continuous or FMCG), post Apprenticeship
- PLC fault finding experience (Alan Bradey and Siemens)
- Ability to read PLC ladder diagrams advantageous
- Team management experience
- 5S knowledge and experience highly advantageous
Purpose of the position:
- Maintaining & servicing machinery by making full utilisation of planned maintenance allowance.
- Planning and managing all maintenance activities in the factory.
- Fault identification and fixing of route cause and ensuring the accurate completion of production logs and job cards.
- Attending to breakdowns.
- Identification and achievement of measurable technical and process developments and improvements.
- Assisting Production Manager to establish the budget for spares expenses and equipment including the control of consumable costs.
- Controlling spares usage and costs.
- Maintaining standards in accordance with ISO quality system.
- Ensuring that the work in the section is performed in terms of agreed expectations and the company’s standards.
- Assisting with training of staff.
- Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures.
- Ensuring Proper housekeeping by maintaining a minimum score of 95% on the housekeeping checklist and 100% adherence to the dress code.
- Championing all projects from start to completion in the factory.
Key Considerations on Role:
- Willing to work shifts & has own reliable transport (Day shift 7 – 4 on a 24/7 operation)
- Ability to be on standby
- Standby allowance includes travel to and from work and time at work after hours for a callout during the week (No shift allowance as day shifts only)
- Overtime is limited to project work, standby allowance of 10% of basic to cover standby and callouts (not overtime based).
