Job Description
The main purpose of this position is to provide the full bookkeeping/accounting function for this property company.
- Recording of local & foreign Supplier/ Creditor entries on accounting system (with understanding of correct General Ledger allocations & entry descriptions, using correct spot / month end rates if & when applicable) on a weekly / monthly basis.
- Recording of bank statement entries & completion of bank reconciliations (Cashbook receipts, payments & transfers - Allocation of all Cashbook entries to correct General, Supplier & Tenant ledgers, using correct spot / month end rates if & when applicable) on a weekly / monthly basis.
- Compiling & saving all monthly VAT related invoices to relevant entity monthly VAT folders daily.
- Recording of tax expenses (VAT, Payroll, Withholding & Quarterly Provisional Taxes) & their applicable payment allocations (Cashbook) on a monthly / quarterly basis.
- Supplier ageing & ledger accounts query management (Follow-up on missing expenses, follow-up for final tax invoices paid on quotes / pro-forma invoices) on a monthly basis.
- Generate, send & archive bank statements on a daily / monthly basis.
- Generate, send & archive proof of payments on a daily / monthly basis.
- Load ad-hoc and recurring payments weekly.
- Generate & archive (Mid) currency rates daily.
- Reconciliation & follow-up on Pastel (accounting system) vs Nicor (Property Management system) tenant arrears variances on a monthly basis.
- Audit preparation procedures (compiling, archiving, sending of relevant audit related income, expense & journal documentation) annually.
- Filing & organizing of all finance generated documentation weekly.
- Ad hoc projects as required.
Requirements - Accounting Diploma or relevant qualification.
- PASTEL working experience.
- 3 years working experience in Accounts/Finance.
