Overview: An Armed Guard or Tactical Response Officer in South Africa is tasked with ensuring the security and safety of individuals, high-value cargo, and property. Their duties involve active crime prevention, threat detection, and immediate response to alarms or emergency situations.
Responsibilities:
- Threat Detection and Response: Officers are required to assess and respond to potential threats while escorting individuals or cargo. This includes monitoring areas for suspicious activity and taking immediate action when an alarm is triggered.
- Crime Prevention: Regular patrols, site inspections, and surveillance are performed to prevent incidents like theft, arson, and sabotage. Officers also collaborate with law enforcement to reduce criminal activity.
- Incident Handling: In case of a positive alarm or emergency, the officer takes control of the situation, reports back to the control room, and performs arrests when necessary, ensuring suspects are handed over lawfully to the police.
- Operational Reporting: They are required to maintain detailed logs of incidents, conduct thorough investigations on-site, and report any issues such as equipment defects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 10
- Own reliable transport required
