Finance Manager

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of a Finance Manager . As a senior manager in finance, the role will support the Deputy CFO in the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the organisation, specifically on the APACE project, managing daily operations, reporting accurate financial results, and implementing financial procedures to improve/maintain the financial health of the organisation.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Management and Reporting:
- Manage daily functions to ensure the financial infrastructure is stable and supports the future demands of the organisation.
- Verify the accuracy and quality of all financial information ensuring it is maintained in terms of international financial reporting standards and generally accepted accounting practices.
- Ensure that performance measures and monitoring systems are in place that support the organisation’s strategic direction.
- Manage and oversee that reporting, monitoring, and recording systems attain the highest standard of financial integrity.
- Ensure that procedures and policies are implemented in line with best industry practices.
- Manage cash flow by monitoring cash balances and forecasts.
- Review creditor reconciliations and ensure they are submitted monthly.
- Oversee the issuance of financial information and champion excellent management of financial resources.
- Analyse, interpret and communicate financial and performance data.
- Monitor budget expenditure ensuring that it aligns with requirements.
- Prepare and present various reports including monthly management packs.
- Track spending of suppliers and ensure vendor registration information is consolidated with Procurement.
- People Management:
- Manage staff in line with policies, procedures, and standards.
- Partner with HR on recruitment and induction of new team members.
- Manage the performance review process and identify training needs.
- Mentor and guide staff through regular meetings.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Develop relationships with relevant financial institutions and stakeholders.
- Manage and retain relationships with various vendors.
- Risk Management:
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile and support in identifying and reporting financial risks.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Requirements
- Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- Compt / BCom Hons.
- At least 8 to 10 years’ experience in a financial management role.
- Solid staff managerial and supervisory experience.
- Solid knowledge of financial accounting policies and procedures.
- Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Enterprise resource planning/systems experience.
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- CA or B.Compt / BCom Hons with articles.
- Knowledge of donor grants and the non-profit sector.
- Behavioral Competencies and Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Strategic thinking.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Technical Competencies and Skills:
- Solid MS Office skills (especially Excel).
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Package & Remuneration
Will be agreed based on qualifications, applicable experience, and previous earnings.
