Leading engineering company based in Gauteng (East Rand) requires an experienced Sales Engineer.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Matric and Engineering / Technical qualification
- Minimum 8 - 10 years relevant working experience is required
- Minimum of 5 + years engineering / technical sales experience is required
- This position reports to the Sales Manager
- Budget responsibility: As per the approved budget and within his/her scope of responsibility and accountability
- Responsible for achieving yearly sales and financial targets in this region as set by the Sales Manager.
- Managing KPI’s as set by Sales Manager and meeting sales responsibilities as listed below in main job accountabilities
- Strategic business development of sales opportunities within South Africa in the following industries: Cement, sugar, oil and gas, power, coal, ports & harbours, steel and metals, general industry and mining and minerals (whichever is applicable in the designated area and account list)
- Responsible for achieving budget as well as defined KPI targets
- Manage and grow existing business, through regular customer visits and networking, in line with our strategic road map and growth plans for South Africa.
- Ensure that the Sales/Bid Pipeline is of a value and quality that provides the Group with the confidence that the areas of responsibility will achieve its Order Intake targets.
- Active pipeline management as per set rules.
- Keeping CRM accounts detail and information current and up to date, ensuring dormant accounts are closed and duplicate accounts are merged.
- Provide timeously feedback with regards to reporting back to management
- To undertake market research into potential new customers to grow order bookings.
- To maximise the additional business opportunities with our existing customer base and maintain existing customer levels
- To plan and execute successful sales visits, leading to the selection/specification of company's products by the prospective customers/markets.
- To follow up on incoming enquiries to the business and proposals submitted, and their conversion into profitable orders that meet the company's business development strategy
- To achieve highest possible margin and profitability where possible
- To assist with cash collection as and when necessary.
- To leverage product range to create profitable business.
- To act as the customer´s representative within the company.
- Provide up to date feedback to the customers when requested and feedback with regards to delivery date changes in a timeously manner.
- Resolve any customer related issues by working with the internal Management Team and ensure continuous improvement in customer management.
- To resolve terms and conditions queries with the proposals or legal team.
Package & Remuneration
Monthly plus Basic salary, medical aid, provident fund, car allowance, petrol, commission.
