A Quality and Technical Specialist in the wind energy sector plays a crucial role in ensuring that all aspects of wind turbine installation, operation, and maintenance meet the highest standards of quality and technical performance. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of quality and technical integrity essential for the success and sustainability of wind energy projects. The Quality and Technical Specialist ensures that wind turbines and projects not only meet current standards but are also positioned for future advancements and efficiencies.
Job Summary
The Quality and Technical Specialist is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and technical aspects of wind turbine projects. This includes ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. The specialist will work closely with engineering, construction, and maintenance teams to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of wind turbines and associated infrastructure.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Project Management, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in quality control or technical roles, preferably in the wind energy or renewable energy industry.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in technical problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in challenging outdoor environments and climb wind turbines as needed.
- Familiarity with wind turbine technology, performance analysis, and maintenance strategies.
- Driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance Management:
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the quality of parts and equipment.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical expertise and support to on-site teams for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of wind turbines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to wind turbine performance.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of quality checks, audits, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present reports on quality issues, trends, and performance metrics to management and stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Analyse data and feedback to identify opportunities for process and product improvement.
- Implement best practices and technological innovations to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs on quality standards and technical procedures to staff.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards, technologies, and regulations.
- Review all electrical maintenance and repair reports for submission to the Site Manager.
- Report on anomalies identified through the analysis and review process to the Site Manager.
- Suggest and implement improvements to the current technical processes and systems in place.
- Perform inspections of contractor and sub-contractor works.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting requirements.
- Assist the Site Manager with the oversight of the maintenance tasks by ensuring that schedules are updated and reflecting the status of the wind farm at any given time.
- Participate and contribute to all operational discussions related to the wind farm.
- Any other duties, as assigned by the Site Manager, in line with the role.

Monthly Salary: Market related
