Shipping, Operations and Admin Assistant
Import Export company based in Ndabeni, Cape Town is seeking a highly organised and dedicated individual to join their team as a Shipping, Operations and Admin Assistant. The ideal candidate will have meticulous attention to detail, be highly organised, and will be a supportive force in our shipping department. This person should have experience working in an office environment, performing administrative duties, and providing support to managers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures organised shipping records
- Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer issues that arise, works to solve these administrative or organizational problems to increase efficiency.
- High level of speed and accuracy with excellent attention to detail
- Develops knowledge about freight and sea shipping regulations and practices
- Produces and checks shipping documentation required by customers and suppliers
- Updating and maintaining accurate shipping information
- Invoicing and payments procedures
- Assisting with transport arrangements by sea, air, and road
- Dealing with customer enquiries relating to orders, shipments, and deliveries
- Ensure correct document filing for Import shipment
- Providing liaison between the company, Air/Sea Carrier, and couriers
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
- Undertaking various other administrative duties
- Own reliable transport – punctual
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Diploma in similar environment beneficial
- Previous administrative experience in the shipping & logistics sector – beneficial
- Good knowledge of import/export documentation
- Detail-oriented
- Self-motivated
