To create a bridge between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration. The focus will be on operations/on-call duties and developing systems and software that help increase site reliability and performance. Responsibilities include building self-service tools for users that rely on such services and collaborating with product developers to ensure that the designed solution responds to non-functional requirements such as availability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
- 5-7 years proven experience in IT Software Development with strong programming knowledge in Python or Java
- Expertise in system administration, a deep understanding of distributed systems, knowledge of various databases, and understanding of networking fundamentals
- Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Proven experience in monitoring, incident response, and automation
