The internship will provide you with practical experience in the Financial Planning industry by working alongside a Senior Financial Advisor and Assistant in a well established and respected Independent Financial Services Provider.
This opportunity would be amazing for a newly graduated professional focusing on Financial Planning/Financial Management as you will be mentored by the Senior Financial Planner.
This position offers hybrid flexibility but would be best to have your own car and license as you will be required to work from home some days, work from the Financial Advisors home office in Bellville and the Somerset West office on other days depending on the Senior Financial Advisors diary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend client meetings with the Financial Advisor to gather information.
- Prepare Financial Needs Analysis and gather quotes for proposals.
- Assist in Wills, Estate Planning, and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with product providers, track form submissions, and monitor progress.
- Professionally handle client inquiries and keep up with investment news.
- Study products, complete accreditations, and handle servicing actions.
- Support campaign planning and management for the new business generation.
- Prepare for client reviews and ensure action items are completed.
- Complete Regulatory Exam 5 for Representative qualification.
- Schedule Financial Advisor appointments and source new clients.
- Source new clients within your network.
Requirements:
- 3 Year Bcom Degree and/or Postgraduate diploma in Financial planning or studying towards your Postgraduate diploma in Financial Planning;
- Knowledge in financial planning principles including Estate, Retirement, Risk and Tax planning;
- Excellent MS Office skills;
- Valid Drivers license and own vehicle;
- Available to move freely between main office in Somerset West and home office in Bellville;
- Communicate in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
