Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required: - Relevant Draughting Certification or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2 - 10 years of experience as a Piping Draughtsman.
- Strong knowledge of piping materials, fittings, valves, and standards relevant to the water industry.
- Familiarity with isometric and orthographic drawings.
Beneficial requirements: - 1–2 years of experience in the water industry is preferred,
- Understanding of water treatment processes and systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for 3D piping design; additional experience with AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Duties and responsibilities: - Develop and draft detailed piping designs and layouts using Autodesk Inventor, with a focus on projects within the water industry.
- Collaborate with engineers to create 3D models and 2D drawings of piping systems, ensuring designs adhere to project specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct site assessments as needed to gather data for design specifications.
- Prepare isometric drawings and material take-offs to assist with project planning and execution.
- Coordinate with the project team to ensure all designs are compliant with regulatory requirements and project constraints.
- Update and maintain drawing documentation and databases to ensure accurate records are kept.
- Assist in modifying existing drawings to reflect updates and changes during project lifecycles.
- Support the review and quality check of designs, ensuring accuracy and completeness before approval.
