My client in a medical scheme has a permenent position for CLINICAL RESEARCH ANALYST.
The purpose of the job is to conduct clinical research for the organisation, and to provide technical support to the units projects, including the Prescribed Minimum Benefit (PMB) Review Project
Overseeing the PMB Review Project and facilitate its various sub-committees by ensuring compliance with the Medical Schemes Act.
Providing clinical research support across the organisation.
Conducting research on national health policy interventions.
Publishing research material including media articles.
Monitoring the impact of the Medical Schemes Act, research developments and recommend policy options to improve the regulatory environment.
Undertaking assignments/tasks allocated in accordance with Company operational requirements.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE BASE The successful candidate will have the following essential qualifications, competencies, and skills:
Advanced Diploma / BTech / Bachelors degree qualification in Medical Sciences or Epidemiology or Statistics or Demography or Public Health at NQF Level 7.
A minimum of five (5) years experience in health-related project management or data management; three (3) years of which must be in the healthcare environment in analysis of clinical and/or financial data.
A Postgraduate degree in Medical Sciences or Epidemiology or Statistics or Demography or Public Health or Health Economics or Medicine at NQF level 8 will be an added advantage. Training and Knowledge areas:
Knowledge of evidence-based medicine principles and ethics in health care.
Ability to research clinical management of various conditions across various clinical fields.
Public and Private health care including National Department of Health policies and strategic plans.
Medical scheme industry and stakeholders, and Prescribed Minimum Benefit regulations.
All related legislation impacting on and influencing the functioning of the CMS.
Computer Literacy. Technical Skills and Behavioural Attributes:
Good interpersonal and communication (verbal and written).
Negotiation, communication, decision making and project management skills.
Presentation and report writing skill.
Qualitative and Quantitative research methods.
Analytical and proficiency in related tools (e.g. Excel, SAS, STATA or SPSS, SQL).
