Contracts Manager
Concor Construction invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of a Contracts Manager to join our projects based across Southern Africa. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the effective overall management of the site. This includes the optimisation of financial performance of the site and implementation of site-specific systems and controls, i.e. daily costing, programme management, QA/QC, HSE, procurement controls, budgets and forecasts, cost reporting, Client and Stakeholder liaison.
Duties & Responsibilities
Successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Ensure overall responsibility for safely managing one or more large and complex building projects;
- Ensure the budgeted turnover and profitability of the projects are achieved and exceeded;
- Take control of subcontractor and supplier management and be intimately involved with project planning and programming;
- Liaison with all stakeholders, including senior management and representatives of the client;
- Weekly and monthly management reporting;
- Assisting with complex operational and commercial administration;
- Manage the quality of site deliverables and ensure that quality of work and materials comply to specifications;
- Development and implementation of Group and platforms initiatives and goals into action plans;
- Train, mentor and performance manage subordinate teams on project;
- Consistently complying with all company policies and procedures;
- Ensuring compliance to Safety, Health & Environmental Regulations.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
- A degree/diploma in Construction Management or Building Science;
- Must be registered as a candidate with SACPCMP or ECSA.
Experience - A minimum of 15 years’ experience within the Building industry;
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience as Contracts Manager;
- Must have a valid driver’s licence;
- Must be a South African Citizen.
Knowledge and Skills - Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word & Outlook);
- Ability to manage large sections of a project or more than one project simultaneously;
- Must have a working knowledge of CCS estimating and planning modules;
- Working knowledge of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations ;
- Good working knowledge of various conditions of contract specifications (e.g. FIDIC, GCC, NEC & JBCC);
- Strong attention to detail;
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
