What you’ll have done before:
Baseline:
• 5 years in Quality Assurance and Lab services
• NQF 7 Qualification in Chemistry or Quality
• 2 years in managing staff.
• Proven knowledge in ISO 9001 and 17025, IATF 16949; VDA 6.3 & VDA 6.5
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Report writing skills
• Experience working with Lubricant or related petroleum products
• Advanced computer skills
Advantageous:
• B-Tech qualification in Chemistry or Quality
• 5 years’ experience in Lubricants environment
• 5 years’ experience in managing staff
• 2 years working experience with IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3

What you’ll be doing
• Establish, implement and maintain quality assurance policies; procedures and practices.
• Assess the laboratories, plants, remote locations and suppliers against the Quality Management System requirements to improve the system and ensure compliance to accreditation/ certification, customer and business requirements.
• Conduct RCA for quality related incidents including customer complaints and propose recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Manage the DC laboratories. Support the plant towards SLA compliance
• Lead and manage the laboratory method validation to assure that methods used are fit for purpose and met customer requirements.
• Implement, manage, maintain, laboratory practices ensuring that laboratory targets are achieved and confidence in the product quality and customer satisfaction is sustained.
• Assess laboratory staff against test method requirements in order to provide assurance of the results generated.
• Propose the annual laboratory operational expense budget ensuring that the plan is aligned to the overall business expectations and is cost effective.
• Develop long term capex plans that ensures the laboratory’s sustainability and uninterrupted quality control service to customers.
• Develop team capability through facilitation, knowledge & skills transfer while fostering team effectiveness (staff mentoring, career development, staff retention & succession planning)
