Medipost Pharmacy is seeking to recruit a Cluster Pharmacist for the Special Meds, in Order Processing Department
Primary purpose of the job
- Providing proper patient care as per GPP (Good Pharmacy Practice) regulations
· Attending training on pharmacy acts and GPP
· Compliance with the POPI Act regulations
· Accurate capturing of prescriptions, acute and/or chronic medication (as per SOP)
· Blind checking of prescriptions done by Pharmacist assistants as per SOP
· Pharmacist assistant training on SOPs, policies, clinical education, and patient care
· Handling clinical discussions and/or inquiries with patients, healthcare professionals, or SPNs
· Resolving rejections and prioritizing adding scripts to WIP
· Attending to cluster and personal action diaries
· Compliance with SLA requirements (completing mailbox profiles, action diaries within required timelines)
· Responding professionally to email messages or inquiries within 2 hours
· Attending to OUT OF WIP notifications
· Stock management, including understanding cold chain processes, expiry dates, and stock returns
· Ensuring correct reporting to external service providers as needed
· Ordering stock with the order department on items out of stock
· Correct handling of Section 21 items in terms of ordering and claiming
· Sending medication/appliances quotes to external parties using the correct format

- Focus on minimizing errors and customer-related complaints as per QA, IPC, and Customer care logs

- Productive and available according to hours as stipulated in the contract
- ESS: Responsibility to manage leave in accordance with company policies
- Eco time compliance: Daily clocking procedures in accordance with company policy
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
Min 1 year as a pharmacist
LICENSING AND ACCREDITATION
SAPC Registration
TRAINING REQUIRED
Training on company systems (e.g. Medipost APP, online authorization system and procedures, ESS, etc)
- Verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, patience, empathy, conflict resolution, customer service orientation, accuracy, data capturing skills, interpersonal skills, relationship building skills, able to work under pressure, adaptability, effective time management, detail-oriented
- Sound knowledge of GPP (Good Pharmacy Practice) and pharmacy acts
Specific Requirements
· Expected output during probation period communicated by line manager
· An understanding of the implications of making errors in a pharmacy environment
Other important information
· Willingness to work overtime when required by management
· Continuous professional development – attending training or forums
· Willingness to assist with stock take if required at least once per year
· Willingness to assist or attend training in other departments such as the Walk-in Pharmacy and Production
· Inter-departmental training and assistance as needed
