MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Our client produces cheese and butter for both the food industry and consumers and is hiring for a Maintenance Supervisor. This maintenance position is responsible for overseeing installation, repairs, and upkeep of the company's property including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems, structures, buildings, and production machinery.
Duties & Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages direct reports who supervise employees in maintenance.
- Ensures safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures.
- Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair, or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality.
- Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the dairy industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
- Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
- Maintains and repairs maintenance workshop equipment.
- Maintains computerized maintenance management system when available for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Coordinates activities with Plant Operations Manager.
- Prioritizes, schedules repairs and installations to equipment and facilities, minimizing interference with production.
- Administers the maintenance work order system, including prioritizing and assigning work orders, and monitoring their timely completion.
- Development and adherence to maintenance budget.
- Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
- Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
Qualification and Experience
- Qualified Red Seal Millwright or Mechanical Fitter and Turner.
- Five or more years' experience in maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and/or repair work and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility.
- Prior experience in dairy/food processing industries will be preferred.
