Senior Flood Engineer / Hydraulic Modeler
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Flood Engineer / Hydraulic Modeler to join their Cape Town, Johannesburg, or Durban office to work on projects across South Africa, Africa, and the United Kingdom.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Deep technical knowledge in hydraulic modelling, particularly applied for fluvial flood risk management.
- A strong hydrology background and realization.
- Knowledge in the use of HEC-RAS (1D, 1D/2D and 2D) or similar software.
- Extensive knowledge in the flooding sector within Africa.
- A relevant undergraduate degree, with a master’s or equivalent experience.
- Professional registration with either ECSA or SACNASP, or other appropriate institution or willing to pursue professional registration.
- Knowledge in the use of GIS; pluvial flood risk management will be advantageous.
- Knowledge in Flood Modeller Pro, Tuflow, and other industry-standard software will be advantageous but not compulsory.
