Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Partner Management
- Spearhead payment strategies across South Africa, identifying, developing, and managing new and existing partnerships with Mobile Network Operators, eWallet providers, payment service providers (PSPs), and merchants.
- Drive the onboarding process for partners and ensure seamless service launches that adhere to business ethics, regulatory guidelines, and audit standards.
- Negotiate favorable terms with partners, optimizing conversion rates, pricing, and marketing support while resolving contract and settlement issues.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers across payment platforms, becoming their go-to problem-solver for mobile payment solutions.
- Stay ahead of the regulatory landscape regarding licensing, banking, and settlement processes to confidently lead discussions with central banks, payment authorities, and financial institutions.
Strategy & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the EMEA leadership team to ensure your payment strategies align with commercial goals and business objectives.
- Partner with internal teams across Product, Legal, Finance, Sales, and more to drive contract finalization, manage technical integrations, and support partner relationships.
- Act as the company’s ambassador in the region, championing partner success both internally and externally.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
Educational Background : A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, project management, marketing, or product development, with at least 5 years in payments, remittance, or aggregation services.
Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (other languages are a plus).
Preferred Experience:
- A proven track record in Payments, Telco, eCommerce, or FinTech, with a preference for experience in Mobile Payments, Alternative Payment Methods, and Local Payment Solutions.
- A self-starter with a customer-centric mindset, strong analytical skills, and high attention to detail.
