Our client was established in 1995 and has enjoyed many years of success, with 17 butcheries around South Africa and 15 branches in the Gauteng region. The business continues to grow and we are looking for an experienced sales Sales Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing local and regional sales, promotions and campaigns.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans and systems to achieve company goals and increase revenue
- Lead and manage sales team to ensure sales targets are met
- Identify and pursue new clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and managers
- Monitor market trends, competitors and sales metrics and analyse data to identify areas for improvement and growth
- Prepare and present sales reports to senior managers
- Work with other department managers to ensure customers’ orders are finished in the correct timeframe and to the correct specifications.
- Daily liaising between sales planned demands and daily production capacity.
- Selling and dealing with excess production.
- Tracking and analysing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics.
- Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding a product or service.
- Making data-informed decisions to drive performance and resource allocation.
- Overseeing and directing performance of the sales team.
- Prepare route sheets and call sheets for the sales reps and telesales team.
- Identifying emerging markets to find new sales opportunities with directors approval
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of sales team and present to senior management
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Set up a feedback program with the promotions team and review feedback and act accordingly to solve negative feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or retail management would be advantageous but not crucial.
- Experience in meat processing industry.
- Strong leadership team management skills.
- Proven track record of sales and management thereof.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel when needed.
- Existing relationships with major retailers would be an advantage.
- Strong business sense and industry expertise.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Proficiency in computer usage.
- Familiarity with product offerings is desirable.
- Proven sales acumen.
