Full job description
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance or a related field.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of procurement processes, practices, and principles.
· Knowledge of B-BBEE processes, practices, and principles.
· Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· Analytical mind-set with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
· Strong organizational and time management skills to meet procurement deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
· Familiarity with contract management and supplier relationship management.
· Understanding of ethical sourcing and sustainable procurement practices.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
· Attention to detail and accuracy in managing procurement documentation.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of two years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
· Experience in the mining manufacturing, mining equipment, mining industry advantageous.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
● Valid driving license code B.
TASKS:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services.
- Collaborate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications.
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery capabilities.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms and pricing.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure accuracy in product specifications and quantities.
- Track and monitor order status, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that arise.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and service.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and generate reports on procurement activities.
- Implement and adhere to procurement strategies that align with BBBEE requirements, specifically focusing on Preferential Procurement targets.
- Identify, source, and engage with BBBEE compliant suppliers, with a focus on black-owned, black women-owned, and qualifying small enterprises (QSEs).
- Monitor supplier BBBEE levels and ensure that all procurement activities contribute positively to the company’s BBBEE scorecard.
- Maintain and manage relationships with current suppliers, focusing on improving their BBBEE contributions and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Identify opportunities for supplier development and work with suppliers to enhance their BBBEE compliance levels.
- Collaborate with small or emerging black-owned suppliers to support their growth, address capability gaps, and develop them as strategic partners.
- Track and maintain accurate records of all BBBEE-related procurement activities, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Work with the finance and compliance teams to prepare quarterly and annual BBBEE procurement reports.
- Support the Procurement Manager in preparing for BBBEE audits, providing all necessary documentation and supplier data.
- Conduct market research to identify potential BBBEE-compliant suppliers, evaluating their suitability based on quality, price, service, and BBBEE level.
- Maintain an updated supplier database that prioritizes high-BBBEE contributors, monitoring and reviewing their performance against key metrics.
- Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures that ensure BBBEE compliance across the supply chain.
- Educate and train internal departments on BBBEE procurement requirements, ensuring alignment and consistency in supplier selection and sourcing decisions.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with working with suppliers with lower BBBEE scores or potential compliance issues.
- Ensure that all BBBEE procurement activities are ethically conducted and in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Balance BBBEE goals with cost-effective procurement practices, negotiating favorable terms with suppliers while achieving BBBEE compliance.
- Regularly review procurement budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities within the BBBEE supplier base.
