Position Overview:
Eriez is seeking a qualified and driven Sales Engineer for the African region. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and expanding our market presence across various sectors in Africa, including mining, food processing, and recycling. As a key member of our sales team, you will engage with potential and existing customers to promote Eriez's extensive range of separation technologies and ensure high customer satisfaction through effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the sales pipeline by identifying new business opportunities and markets within the African region, nurturing leads, and converting prospects into long-term customers.
- Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies for Eriez’s innovative products and solutions within the African region.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding their unique needs and providing tailored technical solutions.
- Prepare detailed quotations and proposals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in processing sales orders and responding to customer enquiries.
- Oversee the entire project cycle from start to finish, including project expediting and ensuring on-time delivery of solutions.
- Provide in-field technical support, including commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimizing our products to deliver superior performance for clients.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and markets within the African region.
- Engage in technical presentations and discussions with clients to promote the benefits of Eriez's product offerings.
- Provide accurate forecasts and reports on sales activities and market trends.
- Stay informed about the competitive landscape, industry trends, and emerging technologies relevant to Eriez's product lines.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team, resellers, and distributors to ensure alignment of strategies and customer support goals.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure client specifications are met.
Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant degree/diploma in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, particularly in the manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Mechanical background with the ability to read, comprehend and interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics, including interpretation of engineering drawings, simple schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Strong technical understanding of industrial or engineering products, with hands-on experience in commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of the mining, food processing, or recycling sectors advantageous.
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing new markets.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages relevant to the African markets is advantageous.
- Strong self-motivation, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the African region.
