Job Advert Summary
We are looking for an outstanding Business Intelligence candidate with broad technical skills to build analytic and reporting capabilities to deliver on strategic analytical/reporting projects, define/produce end-to-end metrics that inform product and business decisions and identify new opportunities through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate relishes working with large volumes of data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts, and, above all else, is passionate about data and analytics. The candidate is an expert with business intelligence tools and passionately partners with the business to identify strategic opportunities where data-backed insights drive value creation.
The candidate will aid in understanding the business’s data through business intelligence tools, data analysis & story-telling and strategic initiative setting. The candidate will work closely with the CEO, COO, HOD’s and the operations team to ensure integrity of the operations processes and reporting to the clients.
This position reports directly to a business Executive.

Minimum Requirements
- Professional Qualifications/Honour’s Degree (Statistics, Actuarial, SQL, Data Science)
- Demonstrated ability to interact with business customers, gather requirements and deliver complete scalable and sustainable BI solutions
- 5+ years' experience within required field
- Excellent leadership skills

- Experience in reporting, data extraction, data mining, data modelling and predictive modelling essential
- Exposure within the Medical Scheme administration environment would be an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
- Interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions to drive insights and inform product and operational decisions
- Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ability to use a programming and/or scripting language to process data for modeling
- Create and evolve organization wide self-service reporting platforms
- Manage team and team deliverables
- Understand data enough to interrogate accuracy and use data to provide analytics to support business objectives
- Consolidate, analyze, interpret and provide high quality business intelligence and analysis
- Support stakeholders with data, insights, query resolution and ad hoc analysis of data
- Produce targeted reports and presentations that summarize findings and recommendations in order to inform stakeholder decision-making
- Solve stakeholder needs and drive the strategy for the business by providing insight and managing data analysis and interpretation on strategic issues and business-related challenges
- Understand how to use PowerBi to gather data, for data-story telling
- Recognizing and adopting best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
- Oversight of the reporting team and the related strategy
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information as per contracted deliverables and ad-hoc requests
- Develop new reporting applications to meet business demands and evolution of the data landscape
