A leading Industrial Services company is looking for a Contracts Manager to join their successful team.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the purpose of this position is to manage one or more contracts each comprising of a number of jobs.
Specifically, he/she must achieve the contract goals and business targets, both quantitative and qualitative, within contract constraints.
The Contracts Manager is accountable for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the contract including profitability, safety, quality risk etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibility areas
The Contracts Manager will work on multiple contracts simultaneously having various site managers or supervisors reporting to him/her directly.
The Contract Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Sourcing and securing work, contract planning, creating commercial and contractual requirement infrastructure, monitoring execution with the aim to achieve the revenue and ensure budget targets are met, logistics, customer interaction, financials and cash flow.
- Risks relating to each activity of the contract (financial, health and safety, labour unrest, etc).
- Implementing the Occupational Health and Safety and SANS regulations with the client and ensure adherence.
- Maintain an excellent relationship with our customer and manage their expectations.
- Quality of the entire environment is managed to maintain company standards.
- Establish an end to end administrative process that includes document control.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Education, experience and competencies required
- Minimum of Grade 12 certificate with 8 years experience in construction sites and industrial plants or contract management capacity.
- Or a National Diploma or BTech Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience in construction sites and industrial plants or contract management capacity.
- Must be experienced and competent in running sites and contracts, including managing teams.
- Must have ability to learn price to work and prepare estimates and tenders in the industry.
- Must be able to interface and work at correct level with customers, preferably having industrial plant shutdown experience.
- Must be able to do takeoffs.
- Must be competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience in MS Project or Primavera will be an advantage.
- Must have completed a recognized “Finance for Non Financial Managers” course.
- Must be familiar with Construction Regulations, SANS, 100085, OHSAct and BCEA.
- Knowledge of thermal insulation and industrial painting.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the technical aspects of scaffolding.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Must have a valid driver's licence and willing to travel.
- Strong industrial relations knowledge and tracing record will be an advantage.
Package & Remuneration
R450K - R600k CTC Per Annum.
