Contracts Works Engineer - Project Engineer
We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Works Engineer to step into the pivotal role of Project Engineer at our esteemed engineering consultancy. In this capacity, you will harness your extensive expertise in pavement and geometric design, alongside your proficiency in contract management, to oversee the successful execution of intricate infrastructure projects. This position is permanent and will be stationed in our Johannesburg office.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, from planning and design to implementation and close-out.
- Manage project teams, allocate resources, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Conduct design reviews, value engineering exercises, and risk assessments.
- Prepare and review contract documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Foster effective communication and project coordination by liaising with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate site activities, including inspections, testing, and quality control measures.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and project team members.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
- A minimum of a BSc or BEng Degree in Civil Engineering with a demonstrable focus on road construction and contract expertise.
- Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is mandatory.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Experience Required
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant post-graduation experience in the consulting engineering sector.
- Significant involvement in design and contract documentation for infrastructure projects.
