Due to business growth, BlueBridge One is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to join our Operations team in Cape Town. In this role, you will provide day-to-day support for our IT infrastructure and cloud-based applications.

BlueBridge One is a leading NetSuite Solution Provider with 20 years of experience in selling, implementing and developing within the NetSuite cloud business management suite.
You will collaborate with the Operations Director, the Board’s Technical Advisor, and various teams to ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems and services. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our software systems.
You’ll also contribute to their development and enhancement, all whilst ensuring security best practices are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
The main functions of the role include but are not limited to:
- Support and maintain the organisation’s infrastructure, including DNS, single sign-on, email, user applications, and systems integrations.
- Implement and adhere to IT security best practices to ensure systems and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Monitor the health and performance of systems to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Conduct tests and analyses to identify problems within IT systems, and provide effective solutions.
- Collaborate with users and developers to enhance existing systems and implement changes.
- Analyse, design and implement departmental software solutions using our no-code platforms.
- Assist in training staff members on using our systems and technologies.
- Engage in discussions regarding IT system changes and improvements across a broad audience, from users to C-suite.
- Assess and test potential new systems and work with the Operations Director to plan and execute their implementation.
- Author and maintain internal IT guides and other knowledge resources.
Our ideal candidate possesses a combination of strong communication, excellent analytical skills and a sincere deep interest in business systems and technology. The following are some of the requirements for this position. You will be expected to demonstrate these during your interview process:
- Understanding of and experience with managing core internet technologies such as DNS, HTTP, email, web services and SAML. Experience configuring mail servers using protocols such as SPF and DKIM is an advantage.
- Understanding of and experience with administrating cloud-based applications such as Office365 or Google Workspace. Previous experience in an application support or administrator role is ideal.
- A deep understanding of at least 2 of the following platforms: Windows, Mac OS, iOS, and Android.
- Strong skills in office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
- Experience with supporting and training end users on software applications.
- An understanding of the latest business technology trends and a deep desire to learn new technology and keep up-to-date.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Using your initiative to organise and execute your workload.
- Strong English (verbal and written) communication skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational, problem-solving, decision-making, and time-management skills.
- Training will be provided on our infrastructure and applications but you will need to be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, security principles and best practices. Candidates with experience and/or certifications in the following platforms will have an advantage: Google Workspace, NetSuite, Teamwork.com, and maas360.
Industry Experience & Qualification (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are expected.
- 3+ years relevant experience, likely in a technical support or operations engineering role, with a desire to grow to a team-lead position.
