Santam Group Finance has a position available for a Process Specialist , based at Head Office in Bellville and reporting to the Manager: Business Enablement.
The Business Process Specialist needs to provide the lead throughout the implementation of process improvement initiatives to ensure people/process/technical solutions align with Strategic intent. Working in a business environment (short-term insurance) with strong business leaders requires taking the lead with Business Process Engineering capabilities and methodologies, and the ability to facilitate, influence, sell and contribute to business process improvement opportunities.
What will make you successful in this role?
- Identifying and analysing process improvement initiatives to deliver an optimal business and functional alignment to the Strategic Framework.
- Apply process improvement and re-engineering methodologies and principles using best practises (i.e., Lean Six Sigma and Process Simulation).
- Contribute to the planning to support concurrently balanced business demand and prioritisation.
- Assess user requirements for their business implications and propose appropriate process improvements, documenting the findings as needed.
- Define business rules and guide the implementation of these rules.
- Establish, revise, and adhere to stringent principles, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Implement and drive the adoption of business process management and optimisation practices in Group Finance.
- Ensuring governance and compliance, integrating controls, and managing the policy and process repository.
- Verify benefit realisation through the design and analysis of process performance indicators.
- Collaborate and support the Group Finance Green Belts to drive continuous improvement within the team, addressing process issues and assisting with operational projects.
- Identify impact on processes, people, technology and data, and co-ordinate role players to address risks.
- Support the team's performance, capacity, and capability growth by facilitating effective knowledge transfer.
Qualification and Experience
- BCOM Information Systems or similar.
- 5 years + experience as a Green Belt, using the DMAIC methodology, associated tools, and techniques.
- 5 years + experience in Process Simulation.
- Data Analytical Skills: Experience with Visualisation tools and advanced Excel would be advantageous.
- Experience in providing data-driven solutions.
- Demonstratable experience leading projects and larger scale change.
- Computer Literacy and Experience in MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Experience within the financial services environment would be an advantage.
