Position Summary : The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving the firm’s growth and expanding its client base. This position is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining client relationships, and contributing to the firm’s overall marketing and business development strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching potential clients, industries, and market trends.
- Develop and implement strategies to acquire new clients and expand existing client relationships.
- Attend networking events, conferences, and industry gatherings to promote the firm’s services and establish new connections.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals within the firm to understand their areas of expertise and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Support professionals in the firm to develop and execute department business plans.
Tender and Proposal Management:
- Coordinate and compile high-quality tender submissions, requests for proposals (RFPs), request for quotations (RFQs) and other business development documents.
- Gather and analyze relevant information from internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and compelling proposal responses.
- Ensure that proposals are tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the client or opportunity.
- Manage the submission process and follow up on proposal status and feedback.
Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring open communication and understanding of their needs.
- Identify opportunities for additional services or cross-selling within the client base.
- Coordinate and attend client meetings, presentations, and events as required.
- Gather feedback from clients and address any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Generate effective leads and develop strategies to attract and retain new clients.
- Overseeing and managing the quality of the data within the CRM database.
- Producing reports on CRM activities to support and measure Business Development and marketing campaigns and initiatives.
Marketing and Brand Awareness:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the firm’s marketing and branding strategies.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and distribute promotional materials, newsletters, and other content.
- Maintain and update the firm’s website and social media presence with relevant and engaging content.
- Organise and manage strategic firm events.
- Support the team in the planning and execution of technical and hospitality events.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in business development, marketing, or a related role, preferably in the legal profession.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of legal terminology and industry trends is an advantage.
- Must possess excellent organisational and time management skills and meet deadlines consistently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to strategise on marketing campaigns.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings or events.
