A Leading Fresh Produce Retail company based in Hillcrest and Bluff is currently seeking a dynamic and responsible Branch Manager to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Location: Hillcrest and Bluff
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the Fruit and Vegetable Department to maximize gross profit
- Responsible for the smooth running of the department
- Placing daily orders, estimating the amounts and frequencies of the required products
- Leading the staff, planning duty shifts, and addressing personal issues
- Organizing and controlling stock
- Maintaining the company’s allowed amount of shrinkage and wastage within the department
- Conducting weekly stocktakes
- Ensuring the freshness and variety of the assortment
- Perfect presentation of goods
- Complying with sanitation and safety standards
- Staying informed about improvements and searching for the best products
- Demonstrating a passion for products
Knowledge Base:
- Experience in retail, specifically with vegetables and fruits, is essential
- Good knowledge of fruits and vegetables
- Experience in buying fruit and vegetables
- Willingness to learn the product range of the specific department
- Leadership experience
- Point of Sale Systems knowledge is desirable
Practical Skills:
- Team player
- Hands-on character
- High level of quality consciousness
- Ability to think strategically
- Good customer service skills
- A creative side for creating displays
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a retail environment is required.
Package & Remuneration
Salary: R18,000 per month, dependent on experience.
