Job Description
Head of Mechanical Design
As part of the company´s sustainable moderate growth rate over the last few years, we are also aiming to redefine our structure of roles especially within the technical department.
As part of this we are looking for a skilld and motivated individual to take on the "Head of Mechanical Design" position in a long term Vienna based employment contract.
Selection of associated activities include:
- Responsibility and lead of entire mechanical design team covering the areas:
- Entire vehicle development
- subassembly development (Chassis, Suspension, Powertrain, Bodywork)
- Component development & design (HV-Battery Systems, E-Motors, Power Electronics, ...)
- Leading role in the entire development process from conception to in-field/ on-track engineering (Testing, Race)
- Design conception according to technical regulations
- Improvement and development of CAD design methodology (packaging, component design, optimization)
- Coordination of optimization of new and existing developments by use of simulation tools (FEA, CFD,…)
- Implementation of new design and development routines/tools
- Optimization of design and product development processes
- Involvement in functionality, performance and endurance tests & on site race activity
Profile
- Bachelor or Master degree in engineering or similar qualification
- Relevant Experience in Motorsport development or high performance automotive development
- Adequate qualification in leading teams of mechanical design engineers
- High amount of responsibility
- Innovative and creative mind
- Excellent CAD knowledge (Catia V5-6 preferred)
- Further CAE experience preferred (FEA, CFD, Matlab, MBS,…)
- Knowledge and understanding of motorsport and/or road car regulations (FIA ; ECE R-100)
- “In-Field” experience e.g. as race or test engineer beneficial
- Perfect English skills (verbal & read/write)
- Above average commitment, as usual in competitive high performance development & motorsport
- Excellent communication, teamwork and social skills
- Target oriented approach & ability to work independently
- Covid 19 vaccination status: irrelevant
Terms of Employment
- Long-term full time permanent employment based in Austria, Vienna
- Initial temporary “Fly-in” option (Company owned modern Apartments available at head office location) possible
- home-office is not feasible
- Role and business appropriate competitive salary
