Honda Racing Corporation has been established in the UK in 2024 as a European base for its F1 activities.
The PR Manager is responsible for assisting the PR Department Manager in the implementation of both internal and external communication strategies. Their duties include managing external communication channels such as traditional PR activities and new media approaches such as social media platforms and company websites. In addition, the role will be responsible for internal communications by delivering engaging motorsports stories via intranet and e-mail. For proper performance of duties, F1 race attendance will be required. The PR Manager is required to attend at least 16 races within the race season, providing cover and supported by the wider Honda Racing PR Team.
Responsibilities include:
This role will assist the PR Department Manager by carrying out the following duties:
• Collaborate with the Department Manager to plan, implement and manage public relations
programs and activities.
• Collaborate with the Department Manager to plan and manage section budget.
• Collaborate with the Department Manager to develop and implement department KPIs,
policies and procedures.
• Recruit, hire and educate new members of the PR department.
• Manage the relationship with outside agencies for PR business such as Social Media agencies
and video content creatives, as necessary.
• Arranging interviews with company representatives, chief engineers and coordinate media
events as necessary.
• Arrange contracts with agencies in an efficient manner, ensuring corporate governance
requirements and legal legislations are maintained.
• Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications
strategies and reflect learnings to continuous improvement.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Public Relations and Media
• Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Accuracy in document creation with attention to detail.
• The ability to keep information confidential.
• Ability to write press releases, generate Q&A in collaboration with engineers and
management and field media enquiries in a timely manner.
• Ability to create engaging direct communications to audiences through owned media
channels such as company web sites, social media, YouTube and other forms of digital outlet.
Industry Experience
• Proven track record in Media/PR roles in motorsports or similar environments.
• F1 PR experience would be highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of F1 history or ability to learn and quickly apply F1 knowledge.
