Your Purpose The Systems Specialist is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical facilities systems, including building management systems (BMS), access control, fire detection, intruder alarms and energy reporting systems. This role ensures the safety, security, and operational efficiency of our facilities, contributing to a sustainable and performance-oriented environment. Your Duties and Responsibilities Sytems Design and Implementation Analyse the needs for monitoring and control across locations to define an overall systems architecture. Survey and evaluate building management systems available in the market and propose a cost-effective, fit-for-purpose standard solution. Design and deploy building management systems (BMS) to optimize operations and energy performance. Develop centralised reporting to provide transparency on performance across the estate and highlight existing and potential problems. Oversee the specification of fire detection, access control, intruder alarm, dedicated equipment control and related systems in the context of the overall systems architecture. Maintenance and Support Conduct regular maintenance and swift troubleshooting to keep all systems in peak condition. Provide hands-on technical support and training to staff, ensuring smooth operation of all systems. Project/Programme Management Develop and implement an overall programme for upgrading of BMS and related systems. Lead projects related to the installation and enhancement of facilities systems. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources with precision. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration. Our Minimum Requirements We cant live without Suitable qualification in a related engineering discipline, e.g. automation, mechatronics or instrumentation & control. Experience in the design, implementation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of BMS or similar automation systems. Knowledge of the control strategies and monitoring requirements for facilities systems, including HVAC, lighting, chillers, water treatment and reticulation, fire detection, access control and intruder alarms.
