Assistant Financial Manager
Salary Range – R 40-45k (depending on experience)
6% company contribution towards pension fund
Discretionary 13th cheque
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and analyze monthly management reports
Monitor daily financial transactions and ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles
Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable processes
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee and reconcile bank statements, credit card payments, and petty cash
Collaborate with the management team to identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue growth
Support the annual audit process and ensure compliance with accounting standards
Provide financial guidance and support to department heads and managers
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining financial policies and procedures
Perform regular financial analysis to identify variances and make strategic recommendations
Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies and procedures
Assist in preparing financial forecasts, budget, investment analysis, and cash flow management
Collaborate with external partners, such as suppliers and auditors, to maintain strong working relationships
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar financial role within the hospitality industry
Solid understanding of financial principles and accounting practices
Proficiency in financial software, such as Excel, Sage 300 and other MS Office applications
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
