An exciting opportunity has become available in our Maintenance department for a Sewing machine Mechanic.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain a range of industrial sewing machines allied sewing equipment.
- Set up and test run a range of industrial sewing machines allied sewing equipment.
- Keep maintenance records and update maintenance reports.
- Conduct running maintenance.
- Assist and coach learner mechanics.
- Maintain and collect technical data for machinery and equipment.
- Adhere and manage preventative maintenance program on minor and major tasks.
- Folder repair.
- Assist with other tasks within the maintenance department.
Requirements:
- +/- 3-4 years’ experience in Industrial Sewing machine maintenance in clothing production environment.
- NQF4 Qualification in repairs and maintenance sewing machine or equivalent qualification (advantageous).
- Have the ability to work in a team and additional hours as requested.
- Must be able to work in a pressurized environment.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Must have a target driven and quick turnaround approach.
Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
