Senior Buyer
A leading manufacturing concern is urgently looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge with a proven track record of purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the buying process for a given set of goods in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.
- Collect, organize and synthesize data to support others in their functional area.
- Analyse data and reports using statistical techniques.
- Develop and maintain a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- CIPS qualification will be an added advantage.
- Min 5 years purchasing experience.
- Contract management and supplier development experience.
- Working knowledge of an ERP system.
Package & Remuneration
R450 000 CTC - R600 000 CTC (Depending on experience)
