Trademark Administrator
Spoor & Fisher is looking for a Trademark Administrator within the Trademark Formalities: Changes department. The successful candidate would be based in the Centurion office reporting to the Administrative Head.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Opening of files on Inprotech.
- Management of own files and attending to diary for said files.
- Monitoring of deadlines and ensuring these are met.
- Reviewing documentation to ensure accuracy and suitability for recordals.
- Preparation of recordal application forms and/or instructing agents to file recordals.
- Liaising with current or previous agents of record to obtain file contents for takeover of portfolios.
- Preparation of documents for execution by clients, such as assignment agreements, licence agreements and powers of attorney.
- Updating the internal systems and capturing of data.
- Following up with Registries and/or agents on outstanding matters.
- Processing official documents received from the Registries and agents, particularly reviewing the documents for accuracy.
- Invoicing clients.
- Processing of invoices received from agents.
- Liaising with clients on various grounds including:
- reporting on the status of matters
- providing quotations
- obtaining documentation
- providing information on recordal procedures
Desired Experience & Qualification
Knowledge and skills required for the role include:
- Good knowledge of Inprotech and DMS.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- An excellent command of the English language.
- Accuracy and a good eye for detail.
- Must be able to work independently and unsupervised.
- Must be driven and deadline-oriented.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Legal knowledge is preferred.
