Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to join our team as a Strategist. As a key member of our strategic planning department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of our client campaigns and ensuring they resonate with target audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop comprehensive strategic plans that align with client objectives and target audience insights.
- Consumer Insights: Conduct in-depth research and analysis to uncover consumer behaviors, market trends, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic recommendations.
- Campaign Development: Translate strategic insights into creative briefs and campaign concepts that drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversion.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with creative, account management, and other teams to ensure strategic alignment and seamless execution of campaigns.
- Client Engagement: Build strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted strategic advisor and presenting strategic recommendations effectively.
- Measurement and Optimization: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop measurement frameworks to evaluate campaign effectiveness. Continuously optimize strategies based on performance insights.
- Thought Leadership: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in strategic planning and marketing communications. Share insights and thought leadership with internal teams and clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. Masters degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5 years) in strategic planning, preferably in an advertising agency or marketing consultancy.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate strategic recommendations effectively.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in industry tools and software for research, analysis, and campaign measurement.
- Knowledge of the South African market and cultural landscape is preferred.
- Passion for creativity and innovation in marketing communications.
