As the Director of Faculty - Education, you will be a central figure in upholding the academic integrity of our programs and ensuring compliance with pertinent legislation. Your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing our educational offerings and supporting the growth of both our students and faculty members.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possession of a Postgraduate Degree is a fundamental requirement in Education Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or a similar area.
- A Master's degree in a related field is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in higher education or related senior roles.
- Proficiency in accreditation knowledge under the Higher Education Act, SAQA Registration, and familiarity with the South African Council for Educators/Private Providers/Publishers.
- Competence in research, assessment strategies, online learning platforms, and Learner management systems.
Key Responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for a diverse array of duties, which include:
- Collaborating with external institutions when necessary.
- Ensuring the effective implementation, maintenance, and assessment of systems, policies, and procedures.
- Chairing Advisory Committee meetings in compliance with established guidelines.
- Assisting the Dean in finalizing HEQC (CHE) programs.
- Supervising the marking and moderation of assignments and exam papers.
- Ensuring full compliance with HEQC (CHE) regulations.
- Engaging with industry stakeholders to promote our programs.
- Coordinating program development and reviews.
- Managing the Faculty budget and related financial aspects.
- Orchestrating staff development and training initiatives.
- Establishing and nurturing student support mechanisms.
- Providing assistance to the Dean as needed.
- Organizing and participating in meetings and workshops.
- Committing to ongoing self-development through various training opportunities.
- Undertaking occasional responsibilities as required to contribute to the Faculty's success.
