This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
What is the role?
As a Retail Accountant in the Finance team you'll be reviewing and creating new retail contracts in SAP to ensure accurate billing. This role is critical to supporting our Retail Commercial Team, raising invoices and looking after all credit control activities relating to retail sales – around £200m a year of revenue.
What will you do?
- Review signed contracts and advise the retail team on “the art of the possible” when translating into SAP
- Translate physical retail contracts into SAP to enable accurate billing & VAT reporting
- Ensure passenger/CPI/RPI/Margins are updated each month prior to billing where required
- Provide support and cover for the month end provisions & reconciliations
- You'll monitor the incomplete contracts vs active retail sales and question with the retail team
- Manage weekly sales data and raise invoices as per the contracts
- Look after all credit control activities relating to retail sales, including cash allocation and monthly/periodic ‘wash up' reconciliations/contractual rebates
- Provide reports and lead monthly retail debit review meetings to highlight any collection issues
- Create and comment on all retail credit check requests & payment trends
Do you have what we're looking for?
- You'll need to have an AAT or CIMA related qualification
- Understanding of a retail environment is desirable
- Understanding of complex contract terms and accrual calculations
- Understanding of credit control and invoicing procedures
- Ability to work as part of a team & prioritise own workload
- Ability to communicate at all levels across the business
- Experience of using an ERP system (SAP desirable but not essential)
- Intermediate/advanced Excel skills
- Ability to challenge the status quo and look for efficiencies within their role.
