We are currently recruiting for an Assembly Supervisor to join our client's Assembly & Manufacturing team. This role is located at their headquarters in Hixon, Staffordshire. The role is full-time, on a temporary ongoing basis, with an opportunity of a permanent role in the future.
The company has been operating for over 40 years, and have developed their product range to become a UK-leading manufacturer and supplier in their markets. This role will involve the direct supervision of an Assembly team of 10 workers, and will report directly into the Production Manager.
Assembly Supervisor key job details:
- Monday to Thursday: 7am to 4:30pm, and Friday 7am to 12:15pm (40hours)
- Pay rate: £13.20ph to £16.60ph
- Weekly pay
- Temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate (temporary ongoing initially).
Assembly Supervisor responsibilities:
- Organise, motivate and support the Assembly team to deliver against daily production schedules / works orders
- Train, coach and support Assembly team to produce quality products to proactively support the required quality output to reduce warranty claims
- Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in line with guidelines
- Advise of Bill of Material Accuracy, and implement engineering changes accordingly
- Proactively identify and advise of any potential equipment, component, or tool shortages to prevent assembly line stoppages
- Assist with the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, optimising efficiency, productivity and reducing waste
- Assist in the recruitment of new personnel
- Targets & measures for this role include: Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery.
Assembly Supervisor person specification:
- You will need to have proven experience in a Supervisor/Team Leader role within an assembly and/or manufacturing environment
- It is essential that you have detailed knowledge of core mechanical and electrical assembly principles
- You will need working knowledge of engineering drawings, and SOPs and how to interpret these
- You will need to be comfortable working to and reporting on relevant KPI's
- You must have great communication & teamworking skills, and have the confidence to lead team meetings
- Previous training in lean manufacturing techniques and six sigma is desirable
- You will need your own transport or live in Hixon, due to the location of the work
